August 2016 card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge

We were asked to create cards that incorporate our favorite technique and that feature Penny Black Stamps. Salt resist is my favorite technique to use with inks. My elementary Art teacher showed me the magic of sprinkling salt on water media. I have also passed this technique down to my art students. The blotchy background that I have created frames Mo Manning’s The Artist stamp nicely. I made her face arm and sketchbook 3D with foam tape.
